Product Care and Cleaning at BRUMA

A quality finish only stays that way with the right care. Here are BRUMA's recommendations for maintaining and cleaning your faucets and accessories, so their shine and performance last over time.

General care

We recommend that you rinse off any residue left by liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel, or toothpaste immediately after using your BRUMA faucet.
Do not use aggressive cleaning products containing caustics, abrasives, citric acids, bleach, vinegar, or alcohol-based ingredients. Do not use abrasive cloths, scouring pads, or similar materials, as this will damage the surface. Using aggressive cleaning products voids the product's warranty.
Salt and chlorine can damage decorative finishes. Faucets and accessories should not be installed in environments exposed to these elements.
Because most water supplies contain impurities, we recommend cleaning aerators and showerheads regularly, at set intervals.

Colored finishes

We recommend that faucets be cleaned regularly with hot water and then immediately polished with a dry microfiber cloth. Done periodically, this helps prevent water spots on these finishes. A mild liquid soap with warm water can be used; however, the ingredients should be checked beforehand to make sure the soap doesn't contain any of the agents listed above that could damage the materials being maintained.

X-Alpha stainless steel products

Everyday care
Daily care and maintenance of X-Alpha products should be done with a dedicated stainless steel cleaning product. Apply the product to a damp cloth, gently rub the surface, and let it sit. Rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry with a dry cloth.

Scratches
To repair scratches, you can use a Scotch-Brite-type pad with a stainless steel cleaning product. Apply enough product to cover the scratch and rub with the pad, following the texture of the surface. Once the scratch is removed, rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry with a dry cloth.

Persistent stains and rust
Any rust stain that appears on the surface of a stainless steel product comes from an external source. To remove rust stains, we recommend using an oxalic acid-based detergent, available at specialty stores. To remove persistent stains from stainless steel, always use mild, non-abrasive detergents and, when finished, rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry with a dry cloth.

We don't recommend using:

- cleaning products that contain solvents or acids

- limescale removers, household vinegar, or cleaning products with acetic acid

- bleaches that contain hypochlorite

- steel wool pads
